What information we collect, use, and why

We collect or use the following information to provide online training services:

  • Names and contact details

  • Job title

  • Payment details (including card or bank information for transfers and direct debits)

  • A brief outline of a delegates' experience with the subject matter, their motivation and their learning goals for the course they are attending

 

We collect or use the following information for service updates or marketing purposes:

  • Names and contact details

  • Job title

  • Information about an individual's training requirements

Lawful bases and data protection rights

 

Under UK data protection law, we must have a “lawful basis” for collecting and using your personal information. There is a list of possible lawful bases in the UK GDPR. You can find out more about lawful bases on the ICO’s website.

Our lawful bases for the collection and use of your data

Our lawful bases for collecting or using personal information to provide online training services are:

  • Contract – we have to collect or use the information so we can enter into or carry out a contract with you. All of your data protection rights may apply except the right to object.

  • Legitimate interests – we’re collecting or using your information because it benefits you, our organisation or someone else, without causing an undue risk of harm to anyone. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to portability. Our legitimate interests are:

    • Where your attendance on a class is sponsored by your employer or another organisation, and our contract is with them, we will collect information about you in order to deliver the training to you.

Our lawful bases for collecting or using personal information for service updates or marketing purposes are:

  • Consent - we have permission from you after we gave you all the relevant information. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to object. To be clear, you do have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

Where we get personal information from

  • Directly from you

  • Your employer or other organisation sponsoring your attendance on a class

  • A third-party promoter or events company where you have provided them with your consent to share your information

How long we keep information

We will only store your personal information for as long it is required to fulfil the original purpose for which it was collected.

 

Where we have collected your personal information to provide online training services then we will store it for a period of six years following the date on which the training was delivered to you.

 

Where we have collected your personal information for service updates or marketing purposes, we will only store it for as long as it is considered relevant and up to date. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

If you have any concerns about our use of your personal data, you can make a complaint to us using the contact details at the top of this privacy notice.
